Natsarim (The Nazarenes) - The Watchmen and Keepers of the Covenant
Forensic Identification
Paleo-Hebraic Root: Natsarim (נֹצְרִים - from the root Natsar, meaning “To branch out, guard, watch, protect, preserve”). Historical Distinction: The original 1st-century followers of Yahusha of Nazareth, distinct from the Greco-Roman religious title “Christian” first applied derisively in pagan Antioch (Ma’aseh / Acts 11:26, 24:5).
1. The Prophetic Branch and Watchman Calling
The prophets identify the Netzer (נֵצֶר) as the righteous Branch sprouting from the stem of Yishai (Yeshayahu / Isaiah 11:1). The Natsarim are the branches connected to the true Vine (Yahusha), appointed as end-time watchmen on the walls of Tsiyon (Yirmeyahu / Jeremiah 31:6).
2. The Forensic Marker of the Remnant
In Ḥazon (Revelation) 12:17 and 14:12, the Natsarim remnant are defined by two non-negotiable legal witnesses:
- They guard the Commandments of Yahuah (Torah).
- They hold the Testimony and Faith of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach.
